Vanessa Sun is a New York based writer. She writes mostly poetry, but is also working on her first novel. When an idea comes to mind, she always writes it down with whatever materials she has, no matter where she is and what she is doing. With a journal and pen in hand, she is constantly writing. Inspiration can strike anywhere, after all.

Vanessa is also an avid journal hoarder and loves to collect journals. Her favorite journal has a black leather cover and gold pages. In this journal, she writes her "diary poetry", which is poetry she time stamps and writes in almost every day.

Vanessa has been published numerous times including:

-Teen Ink November 2014 issue
- an America Library of Poetry anthology
- American High School Poets, Just Poetry!!!, the National Poetry Quarterly
- Creative Communications anthology (3x)

Her awards include:
- Editor's Choice Award on Teen Ink
- 2 Silver Keys for Poetry in Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2015/2016
